Yes. It is advisable to employ a licensed operator for commercial work in the UK. DroneEnvironmental Ltd pilots are registered with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). All of our operators must have appropriate training and a thorough knowledge of UK regulations before they are able to pilot our survey drones.

Yes. DroneEnvironmental Ltd has Public Liability Insurance ranging from £1,000,000 to £5,000,000 – depending on project needs. We also hold Employers Liability & Professional Indemnity insurance. We will supply evidence of cover prior to commencement of services.

No. Some areas of the UK, such as airports or military installations are off limits. Others, such as central London, require special permission which has to be requested in advance of surveying. New rules governing drone operations will further influence the type of drones that can be flown in specific circumstances.

The range of the aircraft is technically limited only by the flight time. Operators must stay within visual line of sight (VLOS) of their aircraft, and not beyond 500m. They must not fly over 400ft above local ground level. New rules allow certain classes of drones to fly closer to structures giving enhanced inspection capabilities.

Our multi-rotor aircraft can fly for up to 25 minutes in good conditions (warm temperatures and light winds). We can fly in a wide range of weather conditions. 3D surveying works best with cloud cover; resulting in diffuse lighting. However, licensed operators must stay within visual line of sight of their aircraft.

Yes. As with any motorised vehicle, member of the public or staff is in danger things can go wrong. However, our equipment is fitted with multiple failsafe systems, including battery monitoring and automatic return to home functions in the event of signal loss. Our pilots are trained how to handle emergencies and we carry out a thorough risk assessment and site survey before lift-off to ensure that all foreseeable risks have been reduced. We will not fly if we consider that any member of the public or staff is in danger.

Yes. DroneEnvironmental Ltd have been involved in a number of commissions that involve indoor flying. Our aircraft systems provide stable indoor flight and are not subject to CAA regulations.

Yes, subject to compliance with current COVID-19 guidelines, your DroneEnvironmental Ltd pilot will be pleased to show you how the survey drone works. You can also view the survey data as it is captured. Additionally, you may wish to provide direction and specific requests which can be incorporated into the survey, if safe to do so. Just let us know your requirements.
